Vision:
Citizens for Healthcare is a community-based organization, campaigning as an independent and non-partisan group of concerned citizens in support of the new Windsor-Essex Hospitals System plan for our region.
Founded in 2016 by Karl Straky Sr. in support of the new #WEareready hospital plan campaign, we are a coalition of local families, friends, and associates who have come together to address the increasingly inadequate hospital conditions serving our region and to offer a community-based voice in support of getting our new W/E regional hospitals system built.
Healthcare systems are both complex and fragile. Without modern facilities and protocol procedures, it is extremely difficult for our skilled and experienced healthcare experts to provide the necessary care to keep our most vulnerable citizens out of harm’s way.
There are far too many examples of patients entering our hospital system for care only to leave with something that negatively impacts their quality of life and long-term well-being.
Mission:
To engage key local and provincial leaders in support of final approval for the development and construction of the new Windsor – Essex Hospitals System plan including the new state-of-the-art Acute Care facility, an Ambulatory Urgent Care facility and community-based Mental Healthcare facilities to service the greater Windsor-Essex region.
