December 3, 2019: The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal ejected CAMPP’s appeal
November 26, 2019: Filed Private Member’s Notice of Motion with the Ontario Legislature
November 15, 2019: Citizens for Healthcare submits “State of Affairs” letter to the Minister of Health regarding new Hospital Stages 2/3 Approval
September 10, 2019: The Infrastructure Ontario P3 Market Update – Fall 2019 indicated the project had been delayed by more than five years
May 23, 2019: Citizens for Healthcare submits letter to the Minister of Health requesting a joint meeting with local MPPs
February 6, 2019: Citizens for Healthcare submits follow-up letters to the Premier and Minister of Health – regarding the 2018 Ontario PC Caucus event meeting in support of the new Windsor-Essex Hospitals Plan
2018 Timeline
December 17, 2018: CAMPP, a group opposed to constructing the new hospital on County Road 42, is granted approval to move forward with an appeal
November 22, 2018: Ford government supports proceeding with mega-hospital plan
September 17, 2018: Meetings held with Premier Ford, Minister of Health Elliott, and other Cabinet Ministers at the 2018 Ontario PC Caucus event in Chatham-Kent to promote the hospital project for Phase 2 funding approval
August 23, 2018: Citizens for Healthcare Campaign Post – with links to Citizens for Healthcare delegate rezoning presentations
August 13, 2018: Windsor City Council approved mega-hospital location after nine-hour debate, highlighting our participation as delegates in support of the project
August 3, 2018: Windsor Star article highlights New “Citizens for Healthcare” group pushing to get mega-hospital built with plans to participate in the August 13, 2018 rezoning meeting
February, 2018: Windsor-Essex Regional Hospital submitted Zoning Plan to the City of Windsor to rezone designated hospital site property on County Road 42
2017 Timeline
December 1, 2017: While in Windsor, the Minister of Health announced funding approval and movement of new Windsor Regional Healthcare Project to Stage 2 status
April 27, 2017: Ontario Finance Minister announced ~$9 billion to support construction of new major hospital projects across province over next ten years
March 20, 2017: Received written answers to Private Member’s Notice of Motion questions submitted to Ontario Legislature in November 2016
2016 Timeline
December 5, 2016: Fourth campaign letter to the Minister of Health and Deputy Premier of Ontario asking for their immediate involvement
November 21, 2016: Private Member’s Notice of Motion filed on our behalf, with the Ontario Legislature, requesting answers to questions listed in our November 2016 campaign letter
November 7, 2016: Third campaign letter to the Minister of Health in response to his July 2016 letter
July 26, 2016: Letter from the Minister of Health confirming work to advance planning for proposed new acute care facility
June 20, 2016: Second campaign letter to the Minister of Health expressing support from over 130 community residents and 17 local companies
April 26, 2016: Community leaders completed Stages 1-A and 1-B of the five-stage approval process and overwhelmingly approved community cost-sharing commitment of 10% of overall project cost
March 2, 2016: First campaign letter of support to the Minister of Health advocating for project approval
January 25, 2016: Participated in the launch ceremony for the “WEareready” campaign in support of the new Windsor-Essex Hospitals System plan
